Insurance for the spray-and-shine trades

Built for pressure washing, exterior cleaning & mobile detailing.

Not a generic business policy with your trade scribbled in the margin. WashCover is insurance shaped around how you actually work — on other people's property, with expensive equipment, driving a loaded rig.

The trades we cover

Three trades. One policy built around them.

Every trade below works on someone else's property with water, chemicals, or vehicles involved. That's exactly the risk profile WashCover is built for.

Pressure Washing

Driveways, siding, decks, fences, commercial flatwork. High-pressure water strips grime fast — and can strip paint, etch concrete, or force water where it shouldn't go. Your policy needs to understand the tool, not just the business name.

Exterior & Soft-Wash Cleaning

Roofs, siding, gutters, and commercial exteriors cleaned with low pressure and detergents. Different method, different risks — chemical runoff, landscaping damage, and working at height all belong in the conversation when you get covered.

Mobile Detailing

You drive to the customer and work on vehicles worth tens of thousands of dollars. Buffers burn paint, chemicals stain interiors, and your van full of gear is a target. Detailing needs care-of-others'-property thinking baked in from day one.

Coverages

What's actually in the policy

Plain English, no fine-print ambushes. Your licensed agent walks through every line before you bind.

General Liability

The foundation. Covers third-party bodily injury and property damage from your operations — the customer who slips on a wet driveway, the window you crack with a 0° tip.

Heads up: when you're working on someone's property, standard GL has limitations around property in your care, custody, or control. We'll explain exactly where that line is for your trade — no legal advice, just straight talk before you sign.

Equipment / Inland Marine

Your washers, surface cleaners, tanks, hoses, water-recovery gear, and detailing equipment — covered in transit, on the job site, and in storage. Your rig is your livelihood; it gets its own line of coverage.

Commercial Auto

The moment your truck or van hauls equipment to a job, your personal auto policy typically stops covering it. Commercial auto covers the work vehicle and the trailer behind it.

Workers' Comp

Required in most states once you have employees — and many commercial clients won't let you on site without it. Solo with no employees? We'll tell you straight whether you need it in your state.

Pricing

What affects your price

We don't quote prices on this page — every operation is different, and a number here would be a guess. Here's what actually moves the needle, so there are no surprises:

  • Services you offer. Roof soft-washing and high-rise work price differently than residential driveways.
  • Revenue and job volume. More jobs, more exposure — carriers price on gross receipts.
  • Employees vs. solo. Payroll drives workers' comp; 1099 crews get their own questions.
  • Claims history. A clean record earns better rates. Prior claims don't disqualify you — they just change the conversation.
  • Limits and deductibles. Higher limits cost more; higher deductibles cost less. We'll show you the trade-offs in dollars.

FAQ

Straight answers

Legally, it depends on your state — but practically, yes. Most commercial customers and property managers won't hire you without a certificate of insurance, and one damaged surface can cost more than a year of premiums. Solo operators are some of our most common customers.

That's exactly what general liability is for. Document what happened, don't admit fault on the spot, and call your agent right away so the claim gets filed correctly. We'll walk you through the process — it's part of the job, not the end of your business.

Almost certainly not. Once a vehicle is used to haul equipment to job sites — especially with a trailer — personal auto policies typically exclude it. You need commercial auto, and we'll make sure the trailer and gear are on it too.

Yes. Tell us your deadline in the quote form — a job that needs proof of insurance tomorrow gets prioritized. Once you're an active customer, additional certificates are quick.

Texas, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, North Carolina, Mississippi, California, and Colorado. Work across state lines? Mention it in the form and we'll sort out what that means for your policy.

Most carriers require a down payment to bind a policy — how much depends on the carrier and your payment plan. Your agent lays out every option in dollars before you commit. No surprises.
